Ok, long story short I had a decent rate prior to the new law getting enacted and then they bumped me to like 21%. I have a 4k balance on it from when I had a lower rate. I just called them and the rep said they are not reducing *any* APR's at this time. I thought the new law indicated a demonstrated period of on time payments the banks have to lower the rate? I asked about this and the rep played dumb saying she's never heard of that. I am stuck as I have been recently denied for new credit so I cant get a consolidation loan to wipe this card out nor any other CC with lower rates to do the same. I pay the card religiously, never have been late since the card was opened and have from time to time paid more than the minimums.
Anyone have any luck with them getting their APR lowered? Did I misunderstand the law? What are the recommended options here?
