Hooters or Junipers...

I just love CCT and Truecredit.

I have on my TU;

1 paid CO and  1 unpaid collection

1 AU CC, 2 CCs, 1 store card.

AU - 1 yr old, CCs - 3 months, Store card, 1 month old

AAoA - 1.3 years

TU FICO - 634

Was wondering if I have a chance with Hooters MC or any of the CCs by Juniper/Barclays.

I apped and got denied a month back when TU was at 602. But the inquiries dissappeared. So I was wondering, if I apply to say, for hooters, will I have two inquiries now or just one? Will the inquiry that dissappeared get back on? Can even apply right away or is there a period of time that i'd have to wait. Thanks.

Re: Hooters or Junipers...

I haven't found anything positive to offer up to Juniper. I've had their SeaMiles card for over 1.5 yrs and am still stuck at $400. I've carried a balance. I've PIF. I've used it heavily and not used it at all. Seems like no matter what I do, I can't get them to give a CLI (CSRs always say that they can't issue CLIs...that it is an automatic review). Aside from Target, this is my lowest CL CC. To add insult to injury, they just ratejacked me from around 20-21% to 29.something percent. I never ever never have been late. Bums. IMO, Juniper ranks as low as most sub-prime CCs. Rant over.

This is a long shot, but other TU pullers include PNC, Wachovia, and National City.

Re: Hooters or Junipers...

I have had my Hooters card for a little over 1 year and a half(19.9 APR). I started with a $1000 CL and now I'm up to $2300. I get auto CLI's every 6 Months of $200 to $300. I have had my Emigrant Direct card for 1 year and my CL went from $500 to $2500(14.4 APR) just 1 CLI. I would go with Juniper because Hooters reward program is kinda crappy.

I was getting that same response until I called the backdoor #. The rep I talked to seemed kinda surprised that I never got a CLI.

Re: Hooters or Junipers...

I've had Hooters for about 1.5 yrs.  Starting at $2,800 and 13.8%.  When I first got this card I used it to pay my taxes ($2,400).  Paid that off in 3 mo. and have since just used it enough to keep it open ($10 - $20 every 3 mo.).  I asked for CLI's several times and was finally told they don't give them on request, only on periodic review.  Well, I've had several "reviews" since then and still no CLI.

While they seem to be friendly on initial CL's, they are terribly slow to give increases.  Also, their rewards program is a joke.

Just another SD tenant.

Re: Hooters or Junipers...

i never could get a cli from juniper. i finally closed them.  I do have a Merrick that gave me CLI's like crazy when i was maxed out.  Now that i am pif--no increases.  Merrick does Hooters i think.

Re: Hooters or Junipers...

Thanks for the replies. I think I will hold off for various obvious reasons.

Hmm...I did try wachovia once in the past and they pulled TU AND EQ for me in AL. Of course I dont have the scores for anything right now...

Re: Hooters or Junipers...

I just recently recieved a juniper card in feb with an initial limit of 1250.00 @ 7.9% I transfered another card I have orchard bank 13.99% to it. Balance of $700.  I paid online and must of have missed the cutoff time.

Was charged a $39 late fee and they raised my rate to 23.24%. I called the rep I talked to said he would remove the $39 dollar late fee. I then called back to follow up..they show no record of the late fee being removed and refuse to lower the rate back down.

Needless to say I will only transfer the account balance back over to orchard bank.
