Re: How Do Au's Get A Real Card? Trying For My GF...

Thanks.

So, basically, au DOES get people in the door just as long as it's *active*.
This means a lot to us. TY

Well, at least that was our experience...and as I said DH was AU on just store cards.....I would think that even sub-primes would carry somewhat more weight when apping than just store cards..

I'd say go for it....add her as AU--give it time to report , then try apping...

Thanks. Orchard is sending us papers so she can be a joint user. It should (from what I gather) also report the same way and she'd have the ability to use it directly.

I am shocked and surprised you are having any problems at all getting your GF credit cards. My SO had/has numerous unpaid medical collections on her reports. A ton. I put her on a couple of my cards as AU and she had no problems getting toy limits with Cap One and Orchard. Walmart gave her 500 bucks and she just got a 300 limit with Fashion Bug. Her scores were EX 670 TU 654 and EQ 628. She had absolutely 0 credit history of her own.

Re: How Do Au's Get A Real Card? Trying For My GF...

Yeah, without any revolving accounts, chase won't deal with her and we assume BoA will too. We're both interested in a boa card so we'll go to the boa branch on Wed to talk to them. She will pay her CA and have it removed. This way, she'll have a natural 700+ score across the board.

My only concern is that her au history is LONG, like 19 years. Would my new account tank her scores with the average age of account? The benefit is she'd have activity but the negative is the lower average. I guess it's worth it, though.

Worst case, she'll get $99/500 secured card but I would think with a 771 EQ even with limited history ONE Cu would talk to her. But it's too risky to waste inq's when they all seem so picky. HOpefully by November 6 months of activity from my card will get her past sub prime world.

Ty, guys.

Average age will go down to 8-9 years. I should be so lucky. Smiley Happy Unless you want to load the report up with sub prime crap just get the collection off then get a secured BofA. Down the road she should have no problems getting in with Citi and Chase and AmEx. Thing is the game is getting wackier by the minute and it is impossible to tell how these creditors will react.

All I know is that EXP rep said it'll be deleted when I notify them it's paid due to it being 5 years. Last thing I need is them reading that and continuing to ruin my gd life.

Did she call Chase for a RECON? If the denial is still new she should try that. Chase does a large amount of these at least from what I have seen. I got my Amazon that way, and I "puffy heart" Chase!
