@Anonymous wrote:Hey, everyone!
I have spent the last 9 or 10 weeks cleaning up my credit reports and was approved on 6/30/15 for a Capital One Platinum credit card with a $300 limit for average credit.
And, I was wondering if y'all could give your thoughts on what kind of credit lines I can expect to see as time goes on?
Barring anything else negetive getting on my credit reports and squashing all of the hard work I have put in.....with an annual income of $8,796, what can I realistically work towards?
Thank You
In the immediate future, your main constraint will be the negative items on your credit report. Once those start to drop off, your only constraint will be your income; generally not many companies will care too much that your income is from disability. You might not get the super-giant credit lines some folks are getting, but I suspect you'll be offered plenty of credit for you income level.
(Keep in mind, with credit you can have too much of a good thing... and I'm speaking from past experience )
Good job with getting in with Capital One, and hang in there!
@Yes-It's-Me:
Thank you. I was stunned at how much I can do for myself in terms of credit repair without paying for the cost of companies like Lexington Law. :-)
@Maharshi:
Hi! That's my plan and I have it marked on my calender when to ask for a CLI. :-)
@Ecxpa:
Yes, I have some additional household income from my boyfriend that I could include. I wasn't aware that was possible when I applied at Capital One. Thanks for enlightening me. After reading your post, I went and did some further reading on this forum. :-)
@Mrldp40
Yeah, fees can be hard sometimes. Keep going, because I know we'll get there! :-)
@UncleB
:-) I hear ya! Invisible money is a tempting thing, but, I feel my mind is in the right place as I never want to go back to square one anymore.
And, thank you! I'll let y'all know in a few weeks if I'm feeling the luv from Capital One. :-)
@Tietza671,
I'd say base on your income, you have a solid plan. Although some companies allow you to combine income on an application, don't let the excitement of that get you credit cards /limits you won't need. That can get you into trouble.
So stick to your plan and if if feel 3k of credit is what you need, then get just that.
