It's always worth trying. If they decline, request them to see if they can atleast reduce it to 15$ (the amount you over shot your limit). Something is better than nothing !!!

Si si si, wait until it post then asked for it to be waived.
HopeLives... I always use this number which calls the Escalation Senior Account Specialists directly in order to get answers 800-707-0489. I know you called one of the Backdoor numbers, but I'm not sure which number and how updated it may be for Capital One.
I try hard to trust everything that CSRs tell me (not), but I would double-check with someone higher regarding the Credit Steps program enrollment status and to explain the process if someone had an accidental slip, etc. On a side-note, it amazes me that the call centers answering from the number on the back of the card have zero clue as to what Credit Steps is?!?
DI, hahaha!!! Yes, that's what I'm talking about... dice it into pieces and only use up to that piece. Hahaha!!!
Hold the phone!!! If you wait until your statement is generated, that is what gets reported to the reports, right??? I'd call immediately to have it waived.
Well, the $29 would be my balance in total, yes.

Just my balance says $515.
You may get a $29 fee charged to your statement. btw, this is a per instance fee.
When I had those low limit cards, I declined to opt for over the limit thing.

I did not know such a thing even existed or I would have
I feel really dumb (again). Trying so hard...
@Anonymous wrote:I called (thanks to b-door numbers) and the rep said that because I have not missed a payment, the $15 will not affect my steps program as long as I make the next few payments on time as well.
However, I AM being charged the $29 (note to self!!).
Oh well. In a few months I will DUMP First Premier, open up my non-inquiry based CU card, and call it a day.
Thanks Jay for the affirmation! (All of you, actually!) Will this affect my CR at all?
Yay!!! I'm so happy for you! I can understand how you would be bummed out otherwise. Now just shrug this off and move forward...

I had really good luck today with 800-889-9939.
Did you ever agree to pay an overlimit fee? As of Feb 2011, they can't charge you an overlimit fee unless they contacted you and got your consent to charge over your limit, resulting in a fee. After the Card Act came into affect, I actually got a call from Bank of America asking me to approve such a fee. I obviously told them to **bleep** off.
If you never agreed to pay an overlimit fee, you ought to demand a credit.
The Card Act also made a number of other changes which you can read about here: http://www.bankrate.com/financing/credit-cards/cfpb-reviews-credit-card-act/
