How accurate are AMEX pre-approvals/selected for revolver cards

Hi guys, I have a question regarding AMEX pre-approvals.

I know pre-selected are mostly if not all marketing. But today I entered my info into their site, and 2 revolver cards popped up, along with 2 charge cards. Before it would be 3 charge cards. But in addition to charge cards, now it's showing the Blue Sky and Gold Delta cards.

Is it just mumbo jumbo or are my odds of being approved for a AMEX revolver actually increasing?

I have no AMEX accounts if it matters.

Here is the interesting part:

When I the load completely, on the top it will say "Congratulations, XXX.You're pre-selected for the following cards" then list the cards with pictures and buttons to apply.

If I click reload on the browser and let it only load the secured content it will say"Congratulations, XXX.You're pre-selected for the following cards" Then it will list the cards with pictures and buttons to apply. But directly above the picture of the cards, it will have a blue shadowy tab saying "pre-approved"

Maybe i'm just reading too much into it. I'm supposed to be gardening until October for CSP. But after CSP I'm shooting for AMEX. I didn't like the idea of starting w/ a charge cards, but this is really getting my hopes up

Re: How accurate are AMEX pre-approvals/selected for revolver cards

I was approved for a BCE while being pre-approved for Green/Gold/Zync.

My EX score at the time was 739. No baddies.

I skipped the charge cards, because I wanted the revolver.

Just thought I'd throw that out there, fwiw.

Check your EX to see if AMEX has been softing you.

If they have, they might like what they see and you may have a good chance.

Re: How accurate are AMEX pre-approvals/selected for revolver cards

Just pulled my EX report and they're been softing me atleast once a month. 5/15/12, 5/08/12, 4/12/12, 3/27/12, 1/26/12, 12/15/11 etc etc.I've never gotten pre-selected offers for their revolvers, only for their ZYNC, Green, Gold. I don't have much interest in their revolvers but have considered their ZYNC for back dating purposes.
