How accurate are Chase and Capital one Pre-qualify? Personal Experience?

Ive never gotten a pre approval for either and I try all the time.  I have both capital one and chase freedom cards

Pretty accurate if it says you are approved.

Funny update, so my coworker and I were discussing he said he had 3 year old bk and only one credit card. I said hey run the cap1 pre qual and see what it says. He qualified for a siggy QS. He went ahead and applied. APPROVED 10K !!!!!!!! I was chicken! Lol building up some nerve!!!! He had no idea what his scores are!

I get chase pre approval for freedom , slate and sapphire preferred . I'm test it out and apply for the CSP tomorrow .
