It's used almost exclusively as a rebuilder card. If you're just building credit for the first time, there are a lot of better secure and non-secure cards out there. Since they charge the full annual fee right up front, most try to dump it before the second year fee is charged. (And you have 1 or 2 better cards.) At most you keep it for 2 years.

If the question is which store card to get, you don't need it. A store card needs to jump out and bite you and really be useful.
