I wanted to join the USAA but I'm in no way affiliated with the military. How can I join?
You dont have to be affilited with the millitary to get the membership. Its just that you'll only miss out on certain insurance products and stuff :-)

So I can get their credit cards and other banking products???
Yes you can.
So does NFCU do the same?
U can use a backdoor to NFCU i.e through USAFed. There used to be a detailed thread on this topic too; use the the Search Luke..
I tried http://www.usafed.org/ but it just directs me to NFCU. Am I too late?
Then you'll probably have to wait for other forum members to assist you. I'm afraid I cant help you further :-(

Unfortunately yes, you are too late.
It was really easy for me to sign up w/ USAA for a checking account (non-full member). About 5 minutes after starting the process I had the account number in front of me and the account had funds pending.
As for NFCU, USA Fed was a great way for people that otherwise wouldn't qualify to get in. I really hate that I missed out on that boat, I didn't start to read these forums on a daily basis until Nov lol. I do believe I've found a way in to Navy via my sister-in-law's boyfriend but I won't know until the end of the week after his application has been processed!
