If so, it would count as bill pay category with US Bank cash+. 5% back-2.95% fee=2.05% cash back. Would be reason enough to app for US bank & pay rent thru williampaid, if this scenario is feasible.
You have to call in and ask, although I suspect WilliamPaid use 8999 (professional service) as MCC (defines what type of transaction for Visa/MC).
I don't recall MCC has a code for rent.
Thanks for the info.
Yah some good info there. I do not know about these type of codes, but I can confirm that you can setup your williampaid account for recurring payments. We used it to meet spending on the wife's Citi AA Amex for 3 straight months. Easy 53k+ miles there with the promo+miles from rent transaction.
This is how it appears in the Citi online Account Activity if it helps

I do not have the US Cash+ so cannot comment on the cash back, but I guess you can easily find that from the WilliamPaid folks. As I mentioned earlier, it helps to setup the recurring date at least 7 days before the rental due date.

@Anonymous- thanks, very helpful. Onna call & find out if this would qualify as bill pay. Tried to figure it out from US Bank's website but was a bit confusing.
Once in a while I get credit card cheques in the mail. Usually between 2-3. The credit card company tells me that they can be used to pay for transactions and the amount gets charged to my CC account. I've never used them so I don't know if they are treated as a regular transaction or as a cash withdrawl. You may want to inquire with your CC vendors to see if they offer these.
It's been a few years, but I used to work at a place that did money orders and it was CASH ONLY. I've heard that you can use debit cards now to purchase them now, but I can't personally vouch for that.
And in case anyone was curious, you can't use credit cards for lottery tickets, either! LOL
I have seen and heard of individuals using Charge Smart .. although I personally cannot vouch for them their fees seem to be reasonable
