I have a balance on my PRG so I could not close the card before the AF hit. The AF just got put on my account at statement cut. How will the AF refund work if I cancel now? Do I need to pay the entire balance & the AF and then they would send me a refund check at card closure? Can I pay the balance and not the AF and then call up and close the card and get a credit for the AF? Do I call amex first before making the payment and see if they will credit the AF and then let me pay the balance off?
