My Discover card is now 11 months old....how long does it usually take for The Discover IT card to graduate? Do you have to call in and ask them? or will it automatically happen?
They start reviewing your account for graduation at 12 months. However, I have read many stories of people having the card 18+ months and it hasn't graduated yet. It's how they view your credit profile, and Discover has been known to be difficult to figure out what they are looking for. If they do graduate you, they do it automatically, and calling and asking does no good. Mine is also 11 months, so we'll see what happens next month. I've got my fingers crossed for both of us
Maybe this is dumb, but what are y'all referring to as graduate? Sorry, I'm new to the terminology

Not sure if my interpretation is correct but I thought it might be the secured version of the IT card 😇
It is not simply a matter of time. One's credit profile matters.

It's just another term for unsecuring a secured credit card.
My DiscoverIt graduated a little over 12 months automatically. Seems like I got a letter and the deposit back in the form of a check. Asked for a CLI right after and was bumped up to $700.
Are you talking about student discover IT or secured card?
