do you have texaco?  They did just about the same to me.  I am in middle tn but they have texaco in memphis, they next chevron/texaco is in texarkana.  after putting 20 in my car to get to memphis, I can use my chevron all the way to houston if I fill up in texarkana.  cant use min locally but make several trips to houston a year and chevrons in houston are on almost every corner.

Both issued by G.E.C.R.B.

I don't mean to derail this thread but has anybody ever successfully combined the limits of two G.E.C.R.B. cards on to one card?

Have had the following for about a year and 2 CL increases on each so far...

Walmart 2,050

TJX Rewards 1,200

I am thinking of applying for Amazon, Ashley Furniture or Ikea because I need some furniture. Should I wait awhile though?

I have had a Walmart for 3 months and they increased my limit when I went over my limit! I didnt even ask. Now I will pay it down.

I got 4 cards last night - for the paypal smart connect offer:  when you apply for the regular credit card, I got a screen that said to call a toll free # to complete my application, when I did, they told me about the smart connect offer.  I was approved for $800.  I also got Walmart, Lowe's. & TJX so you can get at least 4 in the matter of a few minutes.  I also have a care credit account with them for doctor visits.  The total came to $2500 worth of credit in like 15 minutes.

Be careful apping for so many cards with the same lender in a short period of time. It may cause a red flag and they may close all accounts. There was a post regarding this last month.

I have 4 GE cards (listed in my siggy) but I regret getting the Meijer card. 

Really wasted an INQ and added an extra account too quickly... it's really hampered my scores a bit. 

I was just too excited with all my success last spring and didn't think it through properly. 

At least it was a lesson learned to ONLY app for accts you really need.

You could maybe shoot for a Walmart but with 584, let the chevron report and see what kind of jump you get from that... you will have better luck moving forward when you go up over 620 and just goes up from that to possibly getting walmart discover or what ever cards visa/mc is offered for the store (gap visa) etc.
