How many inquiries is too many?

Just wondering what the group consensus is on how many inquiries is too many. I currently have 3 on EX. One of which is over a year old. 1 on EQ and 5 on TU. Looking to reapply for a Chase Card. Applied for the Freedom back in July when my score was 648 and was denied. On recon they seemed most concerned with 2 accounts that had high uti. Both accounts are now at 1% utilization.

Starting Score: EX: 575 (PSECU 5/2/12) TU: 582 (3/6/12) EQ: 664 (4/27/12)
Current Score: EX: 699 (PSECU 06/04/14) 702 (my FICO 08/05/14) TU: 699 (08/01/14) EQ: 675 (07/08/14)

Re: How many inquiries is too many?

Credit Karma gives me an F grade for having 14 inquiries.  Before my recent app spree, I had 10 inquiries, and still had an F grade.  I still got approved for a $10k Discover, $5k Chase Freedom, $1k BCE, and a Zync NPSL and a 70% CLI with Barclay iTunes.

I wouldn't worry.  Just clean up your bigger issues.

My Wallet:
AMEX Platinum | Discover It $20.3k | Chase Sapphire Reserved $16k | Chase United $12k | AMEX SimplyCash Plus Business $11.6k | AMEX Schwab $9k | AMEX BCEP $8.2k | Citi Costco Anywhere Visa $8k | Chase Amazon Visa $8k | Chase Sapphire Preferred $7k | Chase Freedom $5k | Citi Simplicity $5k | Paypal Extras Platinum $5k | Wells Fargo $5k | Citi Best Buy $4.2k | Citi Visa Signature $3k | Care Credit $3k
