Fortunately, my employer did not cut our bonuses in half this year, so I was able to pay everything in full. If not, I would have still owed about $2,500 or so.

Re: How's your holiday debt repayment going?

I didn't take on any holiday debt. I paid for everything in cash (debit card) on Black Friday. I did do a bit of shopping with my new cards that I just got this month, but I've paid them off in full (about $500).

Barclay Visa Fin $1500 | Wal-Mart Discover $2000 | AmEx BCE $3000 | Target $3000 | Slate Visa $4800 | Hyatt Visa $5000

Last App: 3/16/2014 (Current FICO 740 per 4/07/14 Barclay FICO)

I went wild this holiday season...not only did I spend too much money on gifts (mostly for my son), but I celebrated my birthday in a big, bad way at the casino. So I think I spend a bit over 10k, maybe 13k. I used a loan to pay 8k of it....now I have a bit under 5k to pay down ...should be done by June. I am working on lowering overall util as well. I have three cards reporting at this time.  Best of luck all; come join the great cc payoff challenge thread!!!! LOL

Re: How's your holiday debt repayment going?

I had problems with my truck in October and had to buy new tires for my wife in November.  Then Christmas hit and I had to pay for the Xbox One and all the other gifts.  It was a rough season for me.  I'm still carrying about $1,500.00 in balances from the holidays putting my Utilization around 17%.  I should be able to PIF early in March.

It's going... :]

Most of my credit card debt is actually not from the holidays. I'm throwing my entire tax return at my credit cards so I will be going from 43% utilization to around 22%. I will definitely breathe a sigh of relief when I see those numbers go down.

Starting score: 594 (BK7 in Sept 2011)
Current score: 654
Goal score: 700
