How does one correctly calculate AAoA for credit cards?
Lets say person A has 3 cards that are open, each have been open for the following: 6, 4, 2, years. In theory the AAoA would be 4 years, correct? 6+4+2/3=4
Would that be correct?

That would be correct. Just remember that AAofA is not figured for credit cards alone - it's figured for all accounts on your credit report. And it's not figured for open accounts only - it includes all accounts. In addition, AAofA is always rounded down, so if your AAofA is 7.9 it will count as 7.
Ah, so its a total off all account that are open and closed, not just open (as I was thinking). So assuming an individual was approved for a credit card, and after the CL is advised they decline the card, thus it reports as open/closed with one month history, this dramatically effects ones AAoA
