Seeing this thread prompted me to take a look at my old Orchard now Cap 1 card. Account has been opened since 10/2009, got an auto CLI from 320 to 720 a little before Cap1 took over. No Lates ever on this account. $0 balance. Its been stuck at 720 ever since the auto CLI. Logged into my account tonight and decided to start a chat, and see if I could get rewards added to the account. They reviewed the account and offered me the quick silver. Was told card would have same account number,so I took the offer. Was also told that the CL and APR would stay the same. I requested that the rep review my account for a CLI,and he replied I had to do it online. I put in the request online. Hopefully I will get an answer soon. Mainly want the CLI to pad util a bit, so if I get anything Ill be happy..lol.. But because my util is around 35%,not sure how good my chances are.
Hoping for a small miracle
UPDATE:
Cap1 granted me the CLI on the 4yr old card, former Orchard card. 720 CL is now 2200. I r.eally wasnt expecting that big of CL, but Ill take it. I also put in a CLI request on a different Cap 1 rewards card. They PCd me quicksiler on this account, but Im still waiting to see about the CLI request. Will update once I hear something.
I got my Quicksilver card with $500 CL 6 months ago. I use it for small item purchases and carried a ballance for the last 6 months. I made sure not to go over 8% total utlization of all my credit. I logged in to day at the 6 month mark and found they gave me a CLI from $500 to $2500 without asking. It seems most people would get frustrated about the crappy $500 limit and close or never use the card but following advice on this site I believe you can get those CL's up to decent numbers.
Thanks everyone for your work and advice on this site!
I got my first CC 11 months ago(Cap one Platinum) with a 300 limit. Used it excessively, always paid in full. At 6 months they increased my limit to $1,800. 3 weeks ago I requested a CLI through the website and received a $3,000 increase. So in 11 months my account went from $300 to $4800. On top of that, just today they upgraded my account to the VentureOne card which earns miles(old card had no rewards) and has no AF(old card was $39/yr, but first year was waived). I haven't gotten my APR yet but I'm assuming it will be 19.99 - I would be shocked to get one of the lower APR's they offer.
Capital One is not the subprime company they used to be. I'm proof that they have upped their game.
*edit* also worth mentioning the whole process to upgrade to the VentureOne took a total of 4-5 minutes through the online chat. They asked a few basic questions, asked me to verify that I wanted the new card, and it was done. No hoops. Simple.
Could someone please message me the EO email
