They ask my brother for my name, my date of birth and did he want an additional card issued.  He gave them all of the information and told them that a new card issued was not necessary.  Should I be concerned that they did not ask for my SSN?

Not necessarily.  If they took name and DOB, it may still link up.  After the statement cuts and his CR updates, look to see if it has been added to yours.  If not, then you need to rethink....possibly they will take your SS# in addition to name and DOB.

You would need your address to match with that of your brothers in the CRA databases. SSN is not required.

Yes they should considering that we've had the same address for 12 years now.

I had the same situation. I was rebuilding credit and asked my dad to add me as AU. They just asked for name and dob. I guess they figured they would only report to CB if we have the same address and it would automatically match. I think this is to show the CRA's efforts to eliminate those who piggy-back on others credits and only report real AU.

Btw, my CR showed the AU on the next reporting cycle.
