Thanks to finding these boards, over the last year I have been able to greatly improve my credit. I always thought I would be stuck with my High AF, Low limit cards, but that all changed over the Summer. I was able to open an American Express card, Chase Freedom, Barclays and a Walmart card. But for some reason I was still hanging on to my Re-builder cards that consisted of a Sears Solution Mastercard ( $59 AF, $450CL), an Orchard Bank Gold Card ($79 AF, $300CL) and a Capital One Platinum Mastercard ($39 AF, $300CL). I finally decided that its time to move on from the re-builders, so today I called to cancel the Sears Card. After 4 years of impeccable history with them, they offered to waive 50% of the $59 AF. wow... So I closed it and it felt REALLY GOOD! I honestly didn't think it would feel that good, but it did! It felt good to reap the benefits of my credit accomplishments over the last year. I started with a scores: EQ-597, EX-612, And TU- 605. Now IM at: EQ-698, EX- 752 and TU-733. Now that SSM is gone, Orchard will be next in December. The only reason IM not canceling Cap1 is bc they just CLI from $300 to $3,500.
That's 1 card down and 1 to go!
CONGRATS!! Are you planning on closing the rest of your annual fee cards?
Sears really didnt want to keep you as a customer. They would've at least offered to waive the entire fee.
Congrats
