I am in with BOA through the sidedoor--Secured Card not necessary!!

I received an offer through the mail for a Platinum MC (BOA) via the National Education Association.  Since I am a member (through the state Teacher's Union), I was preapproved.  I applied over the phone and talked directly with a credit specialist at BOA (who was very pleasant and helpful by the way).  She pulled my current report with Experian while I was on the phone.  She said it looked ok and approved me for an initial limit of 2500 dollars (my highest limit card to date) with a variable APR of 5% .  I am very pleased.  Very pleased.  I think I might have enough credit for the time being.  Whenever I applied directly to BOA's website during this past year, all I was approved for was the secured card and the debit card.

Good for you! My card is also a professional group affiliate card. Awesome initial APR --wow!

At least you can afford to vacuum out Chewie's sheddings now. Smiley Wink

Having been summarily ejected from my comfy suite in the ConcordUser center, I'll be on the lookout for a BOA NEA preapp.  Thanks for the heads up!

Killer rate.

I too got in the side door with BOA. I took the inq from them financing my car. They called me two days later offering me a card with no inq. I jumped on it.

Another great thing about the card is that there is no annual fee.

This card is definitely "prime".

I'd venture to say that any BOA card is definitely prime. Even their rebuilders are prime in the sense that they graduate into prime cards, which only a couple seem to do.
