I've seen this situation on other boards.  Sometimes it goes something like this:

Junny: We're closing your account.  You have too many inquiries.

Cardholder: How many do I have?

Junny: Six.

Cardholder: But I had five when I was approved.

Junny: Right.  Five is OK.  Six is too many.

Uh...where do they think the sixth one came from?

This is one of the reasons EX has all my INQ's.

Junny now has now my lowest CL's - I need to call and combine (I am going to bring attention to myself aren't I)

This scenario of Juniper(Barclay's) lowering or closing cc's altogether is played out here weekly. I wonder how they are faring in the mortgage market? They are next to an unknown lending institution to me. Never heard of them before coming here. We don't have those banks in Texas, at least not in the Metroplex.

I wonder how many other ccc's practice this(lowering cl's) other than Juniper? BoA does, I've read, and saw just yesterday that Cap1 did that to someone here.

Barclays is huge, it is just new to the States.

And CL reductions and closed cards seem to be coming from everyone at the moment!

I have a lot.  I had an apply like crazy spree at the end of the year.

I got 5 new cards since I got them in November.
