As I type this I realize just how crazy short sighted this is, and thus very unlikely to do it. However, here is my nutts idea. Since I'll not request a CLI until AMEX renews its SP of me then why not just app for another AMEX card and let that SP (if denied) serve as basis for CLI. (Im assuming they refresh SP for new app but I'm not confident of that either.)
My luck, they use old SP and deny and when they finally update SP and I ask for CLI they deny based off my most recent app. Maybe I should call them and ask them to do a new SP.
I would call them as well. Odds are they will use an old SP.
I believe LS is correct. I think it's based off a former SP, not a new one at the time of application.
Called them, CSR said they update CR's once a month and my last one was 10/27/12. (My report said the last one pulled was 10/18/12 so this is different.) On the 10/27/12 CR I would had gained all but maybe 9 points back from my UTIL hit (Walmart had 1k/1.8k balance reported but my overall UTIL was 12.5%.
So should I wait a little longer? My guess is they would SP me one time between now and the end of the month.
Go to their website and do Pre-approval check apps.....they might soft pull you with that .........
