It can't be! There's now a time where CA isn't addicted to applying for more credit. I'm shocked.

Amazing. 700 score with 83 inquiries. We better make sure no new posters see this. They'll go crazy
it was established a long time ago once you pass what 5? inq's scoring stops calculating them but everyone seems to forget that because it's constantly beat into our head that you loose points for each INQ no matter what!
I didnt not know this.. interesting, never heard about 5 in the last yaer rule... learn something new every day.
it might not be 5 but pretty sure it's under 10... let me research!
might be 12 i think..
This is correct. I had 12 inquiries before Dec. I applied for 4 cards and increased inq to 16 and was waiting for a hit on the score, but nothing happened to the score. No idea of how it would be when the 4 accounts start reporting.

Seeing is believing. Give it time. Anybody care to speculate on the duration? Freezes are easily lifted, even temp ones
That's right. And some states i believe even charge to lift a freeze.

What would happen to your credit score and profile if you just stopped applying for two straight years?

I agree. After that best buy fiasco. That's it. Just did it online 10 bucks. I wonder if that will force lenders to pull ex or tu.

OMG 2 years!
I would guess I would get closer to 740... not sure I would go much higher because I wouldn't gain points as the INQ's came off, I would only gain points as the 30+ new accounts cleared 1 year and maybe 2 years, I don't know what the buckets are for new accounts...
I would still have baddies though so I would still be in that bucket.
I will have to take a couple INQ's for business but otherwise I really COULD not take inq's for personal for at least a year... once im over 3 years post baddies I would like an Alaska Airlines card but that is really the only card I think of quickly that i have a purpose for.

That would be unethical.
