Barclays likes balances. They send out those damn balance transfer checks like a dancer at a gentleman's club looking for tips. (not that I know about that!) As long as you keep other accounts at 0% or at a reasonably low %, you shouldn't have issues rolling balances with them. I had a 12 month 0% promotion and took 11 months to pay it back. Had 2 auto cli's in the process and no AA. I had the money to PIF but if an issuer is offering 0% I'm taking them up on it!

+1
I'll just pay a 1% on $1,000 a 0 promo and pay it off in 12 months, just for the privilege to continue appying for and accruing their sign-up bonuses. Just see it as $10 fee to keep them happy, while applying for and churning their cards.
if you look at my signature one of those things does not look like the other two! the way i see it is that if barclay closed my account, they are in a sense doing you a favor...who wants to be friends with a bipolar brit?
I have a Barclay's card and felt the same as the OP but I have gotten several cards since then. Don't owe anything on the Barclay's card at present but am going to use it later this weekend. I like the card so far but I'm rebuilding and if they CLD it or close it so be it. I'm not going to be held hostage by this rumor or if it turns out fact. If I see a card I want and have reasonable chances of obtaining I'll go for it after my tenure in the garden for 3 mos.

Hi, I got upgraded to the Walmart Discover card almost 2 weeks ago and am still waiting for the card to come, so it's not reporting the new account yet. Than, last Saturday, I applied for the Chase Slate and got approved. The inquiry is reporting, but not the new account. So, Thursday I applied for the Barclaycard Rewards Mastercard and got approved! Except now(after reading through the forum) I'm scared my account will get closed or a CLD because of the 2 new accounts that haven't reported yet. What do you think? Thanks!
I wouldn't worry about it. I got My Barclays card in March 2013 and 12 of the 14 cards in my siggy came afterwards from July 2013 - December 2013 and no closure/no CLD. I think all the hype is overrated.
The recon crowd gets micro-managed IMHO. YMMV of course, but I think you're ok.

Thanks!don't worry about something that may not happen. Just like how you wouldn't worry about when the next earthquake is going to happen.
Just keep your utilization low and don't drag balances for the next 6 months, even if there's a 0% promo.
Umm, didn't we just have a 4.1 earthquake in south carolina?
And Southern California is "supposedly" long overdue for the next major earthquake that could potentially happen anytime now. Should we start selling all our property, shut down all businesses and evacuate the whole LA right now?
Yes, that would be wise. There could be an earthquake in LA at any time now...

+1. I got my Sallie Mae (Barclay) at the end of an app apree where I added 5 new cards and a car. As always YMMV...but I think the whole "Barclay's Boogie-man" paranoia is way overblown.
I'm sure they are somewhat INQ/new TL sensitive...but so is every other creditor. I read on here recently where several people went through some really unfortunate CLD/AA's with Chase, yet no one is bending themselves out of shape calling for a Chase-jihad.
That being said, I generally think it's a good idea to make sure you treat your new cards well (use regularly; keep balances low and/or PIF). If you do that, you should be fine.

I concur. My Arrival was the last in my spree of 4 new cards and 9 new inqs. If they don't take any AA against me for that, then it will be hard to convince me that barclays is all oversensitive and whatnot.
