Does your company fall under any of these categories?
U.S. Government employees assigned to DoD installations (including Coast Guard)
All DoD civilian employees—including retirees and annuitants
DoD contractors assigned to U.S. Government installations

I am now curious as to where the "NFCU eligible non-DoD organization list" is. Can you please post the link? I searched a few times on google, but the only thing I could find is this eligibility checklist. It would make more sense if your organaztion was working on a DoD installation doing contract work, but you said you don't deal with DoD?

Has there been any update to this situation?

UPDATE: So I would have been eligible under my current employer if I was actually on an installation. Anywho, my half brother (different fathers) was in the Navy and is a member so he told me just to use him as a way to join. So I try to use that method and they request a copy of my birth certificate which I had no issues providing. They said that's how they verify relation but guess what, my father's name is not on my birth certificate, just my mom's name. So the rep says then you are not eligible to join!? **bleep**?!? I'm so over Navy Federal!!!!

Well..its kinda Navy Federals fault. They should've made sure you were eligible before taking your money (they'll be a hold on that for 10 business days I bet)
They can probably reverse the HP on your CR for the credit card.
