Back to the matter at hand, I tried agcringe manager I spoke to was rude. I'm done! To those of you that are members congrats! To others, it's no big deal, life certainly goes on.

I don't understand. So you are trying to join through your half brother - same mother, different fathers. Right? Why can't a copy of his birth certificate and a copy of your birth certificate showing the same mother prove you are relatives?

Oh and he is not listed on your birth certificate. I know when my oldest daughter was born listing the father was not required but years later we applied to have that corrected so his name could be added. I am so sorry you are going through this.

Re: I'm so OVER Navy Federal!!!!

Op's brother is a member. I joined through my brother and all I gave was his access number. We have the same last name though. I wonder how they do it if someone has the last name Smith? I think that's where the birth certificate comes into play

Re: I'm so OVER Navy Federal!!!!

I joined on December 21, 2012 and got my first high limit CC of $7,000.00; I'll be a member for awhile.  The one percent cash back is good; I had the Capital One Journey card forever... $750.00 limit max.  With three kids using that card for the cash back means remitting a lot of payments each week.... closed it -- not worth the hassle.  NFCU appealed to me because of their service to our military service members.

No offence nor meant to start a flame war but it pretty easy to say they are best when they are known for offering sub-prime members high limits, and offers  they would not get anywhere else. I am happy for those who have  joined, and are reaping the rewards, but to say they are best is a bit-stretched.

Well to say that sounds like to me you are saying people with less then steller credit do not deserve a decent credit limit. Sounds like to me you are grouping them people into a second class.. First of all NFCU dose not give out high credit limits to everyone i have seen people with 500 dollars 1000 etc. My reason why i say they are the best is BANK 1 with a 700+ Credit score says you never had a car costing so much being financed and bank one wants to give you a higher intrest rate and make you jump through hoops. Then comes NFCU i ask them for 80,000 and they cut me a check no questions asked 30 mins after asking for it! I mean come on they have great products they don't charge fees for most if all anything they have super customer service and i ask and i receive. There are alot of people on here that want to get in and are jelious there are alot of places i would love to apply to but i can not get in myself. But i am not going to get my panties in a twist and get upset and angry about it! I just move on and try for somthing else... Me myself i have never been in the military when i signed up they did not give me any problems they called me and welcomed me into nfcu and the local branch has been very awsome!

Re: I'm so OVER Navy Federal!!!!

I'm glad you said it because I was thinking  it--I did  spend 20 years in the air force and the guy who choose to basically call us sub prime members needs to wash his buffey and Jodi sweater and head to his hootie tootie country club--outstanding rebuttal--txs!
