Chase freedom is no more what it used to be.Their rewards program has changed and is no more the top rewards card out there.
Discover? I heard that Chase rewards program is somewhat like discover's rewards program. (I don't have discover) and people dont like it.
Well,
Last I applied was couple of months back for Chase Amazon rewards card coz I shop at amazon a lot.

Never asked for a CLI and still am beseiged with offers from people for credit.
It's really a state of mind and once I realized if I just did things NORMALLY, (pay my bills when due, not over extend, not needlessly apply for Credit ) and basically quit trying to micromanage it, things have never been better.
When I've had an issue I called and got great customer service from banks that peole vilify on here. Sometimes it just makes me feel that it is far more the attitude of the person going in that causes the results of the encounter.
Hope everyone reaches all their Credit goals and NO, I have never checked my credit score, could not tell you what it is.:smileyhappy

I am happy to hear you've had only great cs experiences and I don't doubt it. However, while it's common knowledge that rude or abrasive attempts get treated differently sometimes by cs... just because 99.5% of my experiences have been fine, doesn't necessarily mean that the thousands upon thousands who lodge complaints about poor service are simply too incompetent or what say you to make a polite inquiry with a ccc.
OH I AGREE. I'm sure that many times people make perfectly fine inquiries to representatives and get terrible service. I do hope in cases like that they go up the ladder to other people. It is only natural that people are going to usually respond in a fashion they are approached with.
Thats a lesson I learned MANY YEARS AGO when dealing with the public and making credit decisions. We had a huge plaque in our employee office that said, "Granting credit to a person who is rude and an ass , BUT is responible , is a much smarter business decision then granting it to a wonderful person who doesnt pay their bills". I have always remembered that.
Congrats, mjbfan! You've really turned your credit profile around since you've been here. Nice job!
(And really, who the heck knows where rewards cards are heading? I wouldn't want to app for anything now, even if I needed it, because I have very little faith in the rewards structure not changing 3 times during the application process. )
I haven't apped since 1/08. Have 5 cards including one CU That's enough for me.
I do however play around with apping; like punching in a pre-approval number.
Oh and I can't forget Verizon who does a hard pull and does nothing to help
your credit.
