I have the card as well and I haven't read anything like that.
I guess technically say we may cancel not that they will.
This is directly from t&c
You must maintain your Costco membership to redeem the Reward. We may cancel your Card Account and participation in this program if you do not maintain your Costco membership.

Well I wasn't trying to argue for technicality. I honestly couldn't find anything. That pretty much sums it up though. "We may" would be a good sign that they would cancel the card with no membership.
I'm not worried because we enjoy our membership.
Thanks
Still it is a card that requires you to be a member of someplace to have the card. Personally hate those. Becuase lets say you move to a place where Costco is further away or just to far away to shop and you have a Bj's or Sams club which is closer.

If you are an costco member and have been for an long time its not an bad card to get. Its an nice card in my wallet that i use as backup. There are an few things i don't like about it, the biggest thing is the cash back check only coming once an year, but i would say its not a bad starter card with amex.
I'm starting to think since I already have a cash back card and I want to try for Amex that maybe the new everyday card is the way to go? Get 10,000 bonus miles and start adding those up and then in a year or two when PRG has another great promotion like 40,000-50,000 miles, I'll have some saved up to add to that and be able to travel
Thoughts?

Not an bad idea since you can house your MR points if you have ED and cancel prg down the road if you don't like the card . I am still trying to figure out how to qualify for that signup bonus for 50k with prg :-(

I just don't think cards that require you to keep a membership is a good idea
I would really hate to see my card canceled on me because I decided to stop shopping at the place but that is just me
Why's everyone so obsessed with American Express cards? Does it really have great customer service?
The ratings says that American Express ranked "first" and Discover ranked "second" in customer service but hell Discover sucks, especially in disputing transactions. I guess that doesn't apply to Amex?
(sorry I'm noob ...)
I did visit the pre-qualified page on the Amex website but I was never qualified for any of their cards thus I'm afraid my comptuer would explode if I click the "submit" button on the Amex app page.
