I wanna CU!!!!

So, I want to join a CU for the checking, savings, and a cc. I have pretty decent scores and all baddies are oldies. I was thinking that I want to app for the cc 1st then join the cu after because, if I don't get the card I don't want to join the cu.

BUT.....I have a unpaid record with chexsystems for $650 to a bank. I'm not sure if I owe it, but the bank isn't coming after me and I don't want to rock the boat (it will be off in 1.5 years).

I've heard that JFCU doesn't use chexsystems, but I'm still scared to waste the inquiry if they do!!

Anyone know for SURE?

Also, any advice on what order I should app in would be helpful!!!

My scores were in the 500's when I joined my CU.  I just use them for the checking/savings/free bill pay.  Now my scores are all 615+, I still am a bit timid about getting a CC from them.  I don't think you will have a problem.  But that is my amateur opinion on it
