No credit card required
Browse credit cards from a variety of issuers to see if there's a better card for you.
You DON'T want anything swiped as a cash advance!
Debit cards just take it out of your bank account. If you use a credit card, and it is coded as a cash advance, you get charged an additional fee and are also charged interest. Not sure how a gift card would work, although not sure how a cash advance would work on a prepaid card, might just be an extra fee.
Can Serve be used to pay off a credit card?

I haven't used Serve, but most of my payments on Bluebird are to credit cards.

Yes, but I wouldn't use it to pay Amex.
