I just got a call from GECRB Corporate Office, the rep said, it's a unique situation and that she will have to reach out the the risk assessment team and she will try and get back to me later hopefully by the end of this week.
So we'll see.
Wow!! You're day reminded me of that time at the casino, I did bad at the tables then continued to drain myself more at the slot machines to the point of aimesly pulling the machine handle. Next thing I know POOF $400.00 bucks gone with an allowance of $150.00 going in (just wanted entertainment, wasn't looking to hardcore gamble) one thing led to another, I left DEPRESSED.
From now on, atleast what I do, is I pick a credit card I want and research the pros and cons and my chance of approval, then I sleep on it, if I wake up still wanting that card then I apply, if denied- I get teary eyed momentarily then move on and wait for the inquiry to fall off.
So the rep from GECRB Corporate Office got back to me and said unfortuniently she can't reopen my orgional smart connect because i did indeed willingly close it and they are unable to qualify me for the Mastercard or raise the limit on my new smart connect account because of my credit score. She said a letter would be sent explaining this. i thanked her for trying and we ended the call.
Oh well, i did learn my lesson. I will not close an account just to see if i can get the upgraded version ever again!
Now I can just use the credit i got and build up my limits over time and get on with my life!
Thanks everyone for your help and feedback during my situation, i truely appreciate it!
Sorry it didn't work out for you.
Definitely sorry you couldn't reopen that account, Linux. It was a good try, though. And you've been really great about handling both the aftermath of the situation and the feedback you've gotten.

Thanks
I did get something good out of it at least, I still have a smart connect account, that i can build back up in no time, and i was successful with the BOA recon so i will have the BBR card on its way, and with both of them i only lost $400 in credit, so no big deal.
No i just gotta call up paypal tonight and see if they can move my debit card over to my other paypal account that the new smart connect account is on.

I called Bank of of America and talked to a credit analyst and the first person that answered the phone must not have been a analyst because they "had to see if the department was open " and transfered me. Then as i talked to an analyst they looked through my app and credit report and said that I don't have enough "credit refferences" and I said How i've started building credit in 2012 and i have 7 accounts open. I even said i have one of them that's a year, and she said she would transfer me to someone else for a second look. Then i was transfered to a "Senior Analyst:" who had me confirm some of the cards on my report, my income. She then asked about all my inquries over the last year and I said "I am starting my dive into credit" she then asked me why i wanted to open a Better Balance Rewards card with them and I told them that i love them and wanted to build a good relationship with them and I loved earning cash back from them.
She them came back and said she could approve me for $1,500 and I said wow thank you. She explained a little bit about the program benefits of the card and she said it will be linking up to my online banking and they will be sendin out the card and all the info in the mail.
Bank of America is very nice and cares about their customers. They even thanked me for applying and thanked me for calling in to speak with them.
Every time I read your posts, I was hoping you would say something positive. And here it is! I am sooo glad that you were finally able to be approved. However, please take note of ALL of the good advice in this thread! Stop here and build what you have...NO NEW APPS for at least a year. Congrats and thank you for taking in the info so well, as well as, NOT giving up!

Yes I am glad some possitive things did come out of all of this, and i have to resist the urge to app, i'm gonna try to hard not to app or otherwise take a hard pull till 2015, when all inquaries have completely come off my reports. I just gotta find something else to do with my life instead of apping.
I'm taking everything so well cuz it's no ones fault but my own, that i got into this whole situation, not GE's fault, Barclays fault, Chase's fault, or Bank of America's fault.... It was my fault! There i said it.... LOL! I admit it was my own fault.
I did swap my email addresses around on my paypal accounts and i called regular cs for smart connect to give them my updated email address, and i called paypal to get my debit card moved over and they told me they couldn't do that and that i have to get a new debit card for the other account and so i did and i asked them to shut the old one down to prevent any sudden unexpected charges, which is just as good cuz i had a blockbuster subscription that i used my paypal debit card on that account and i canceled blockbuster a month ago and switched to netflix when my local store closed and having the debit card shut off will prevent them from trying to charge me on a subscription that's already canceled, as i've read they have done that shady kinda stuff to people before. So some more good did come out of all of this mess.
Time to more on with my life now!
Friday, i got alot of vaious letters and mailings reguarding all of this mess i got myself into (chase denial letter, check for 7 cents from GE for my old smart connect, and my new paypal smart connect card and its paperwork)
Saturday, I got another denial letter from chase reguarding my recon, as well as:
My BankAmericard BBR Mastercard came in da mail today with all da usuall paperwork! I called and activated it through the automated system, no problem. Bank of America is Awesome! :smileyvery-happy
It says Cardholder since 13, so i guess they don't backdate the cards like AMEX LOL.
Also today i got an email saying me new Paypal Debit card was approved and on its way! Sweet!
Sorry if I missed it, but I don't think anyone has mentioned that it WASN'T necessary to to close your SC account to apply for the Extra's MC.
The work around is you need to open another PayPal account separate from the one that has you SC account. I have 3 PP accounts (using different email addys).
1 has my Smart Connect account with a 8K CL
1 has my BML account with 2K CL
and 1 has my PP EXTRA MC account with 10K CL
So it is possible to have more than one credit product with Paypal, you just need to have a separate account for each...
