IMPORTANT INFO regarding CapOne Credit Line Increases....

Just an FYI... I have a CapOne that I opened in 2003. I called last week about CLI and got the same info posted here that this particular card is "not eligible" for CLI blah blah blah. But, then, the rep asked "why" I want a CLI? "Did my income situation change since I opened my account in 2003?" I said, "Yes. Very much so. I was a 'student' in 2003. I'm now an RN working two jobs since making over $85+. Been an RN since 2007." He said, "Oh, I see. You are still listed in our records as a student here making $20K" So, he UPDATED my information accordingly. He said its PROBABLE that when they reviewed my account periodically that my status STILL REPORTING AS A STUDENT MAKING 20K was most likely the reason I wasn't getting any CLI. Perhaps this info I am sharing may help some of you guys. We will see if I now get any CLI.

CapOne is a low to mid quality CC company - and results are often unpredictable.  Bottom line though is they aren't going to handle your improving circumstances the way one would think makes sense (i.e. grow a good customer relationship).  You don't say how your scores, utilization, etc. are looking but why not identify a good Credit Union and apply there.

Do you live an an area where they have bank branches (like the Washington, DC or Texas areas)?  If you do it might be worth going in, in person, and talking to a branch person, they offer a whole different menu out of the branches.
