So I'd like to get a few more CCs as I only have one currently to increase my revolving accounts. I have 4 hard inqs. currently and would like to keep those down. If I accept a preapproved card which was a soft inq., will this then lead to a hard inq? And is this card specific?

More than likely, yes. I would suspect it to put a hard inquiry on your credit report.
