Re: If you could only carry 1 card which would it be?

LOL well I don't have much to choose from. The only rewards card I have is the Cap1 Cash Back, but I couldn't keep it because it only has a 500CL. I have no choice but Barclays (2000CL with 23% APR).

Ugh. I need a prime rewards card.

Transunion: 713 FICO (5/13/2014) MyFico
Experian: 789 FICO (4/10/12) Lender Pull
Equifax: 695 FICO (1/10/14) MyFico

My cards: Chase United Mileage Plus 7000CL (3/12), CITI Simplicity 1800CL (9/12), Cap1 Platinum 1000CL (2/10), Cap1 Cash back 1500CL (11/11), Apple Barclay's 2500CL (11/11), Discover IT 6000CL (5/13)

My Primary Financial Goal is to put down my utl%.

No question about it...Orchard Bank Platinum VISA

:smileyvery-happy:

J/K...From this point forward, my 3 Rivers FCU Visa Platinum Credit Card. Not only is it the highest limit card I have at $3,000, but it has the lowest APR, no AF, and I support a credit union instead of a banking institution that judges me only by a FICO/ credit file.

Plus, they looked at the WHOLE consumer and took a chance on a loyal customer. Yes, it's a lender's preragative to do so, but it honks me off that I have them tell me "Everything looks great...if only that BK wasn't there, we'd approve you".

Yes, if only I hadn't been saddled with $15,000 in medical bills to keep my son breathing, I would have the "honor" of carrying you in my wallet. Sure, I didn't HAVE to file BK...I could have just waited while vultures closed in, attached my bank accounts, garnished my wages, and basically destroyed my ability to support a family of 5.

My credit union didn't even blink...in fact, THEY contacted me to finish the CC application and approved me nearly immediately after I applied. Customer for life they now have.

I'm Spartacus!

Some of the younger people here won't remember this man from the 70s.  Karl Malden endorsed Amex and i took his recommendation.  Still "won't leave home without it".

I remember him from the TV show "Streets of San Francisco", one of my favorites.  Shows how old I am.

Re: If you could only carry 1 card which would it be?

Tough question. My go to card is my Amex Gold Rewards Plus. There are so few places that I go to that do not accept it, I would probably keep it as my "1" card.  But, that said, if I needed to go out of the country, either the MC or the Visa.
