TU: 8

EX: 8

EQ: 5

While I chime in, I will bump a question already asked in this thread:

We know INQs dont factor into your "score" after year 1, but between year 1~2 until they fall off completely, [does it] / [can it] / [will it] affect new credit decisions from lenders, given that they are privvy to the information if a report is pulled?

all of them made in late 2012 and this year. Question is though they don't affect after a year they will show up in report for 2 years and continue affecting for new applications not getting approved ?

Hi Sghosh5-

Inquires stay on your credit reports for 2 years. In FICO scoring you get ding for inquires made in the last 12 months. As time pass...3 months... 6 months... you gain back points slowly.  You gain back full points lost in 12 months after each initial inquiry.

For example:

Today I applied for an Amex card 7/26/13 (shhhh, I really did & I got approved!). This inquiry will show on my credit report for 24 months. But in exact one year 8/27/13. I will no longer be penalized for this inquiry although it will continue to report for another year (8/27/14).

Re: Inquiry Kings & Queens

Thanks OptimalCS. I knew that fact. My question was though it does not affect scores any more after a year, between year 1 & 2 it will still remain on report and will the creditors still deny say too many inquiries ?

right now the biggest reason of me getting denied is too many inqs. 90 percent of which i did when i got rid of lots delinquencies and collections and wanted to fill my credit report with new and various accounts. I am definitely in garden till late 2014 Smiley Happy

My last app was in 07/16/2013. So my report should be clean by 08/2015.

Before you app think...
Have you done your research of the CC?
Does it fit your spending?
Do you have a plan for the bonus w/o going into debt?
Can you afford the AF?
Do you know the cards benefits? Is it worth the HP?

Re: Inquiry Kings & Queens

@sghosh, it really depends. People have been declined by Amex, barclays chase, citi and BofA for inquiries that were over a year old, so if can happen. It just really depends on how thick your file is, and whether you have any derogs on file as well.

Re: Inquiry Kings & Queens

Well I have EQ = 6, TU - 6, Ex - 7. I have been triple pulled by CapOne, Amex, Discover, Chase and Citi. This was due to my thin credit file.

PNC Secured 2000 (Dec12), Chase Amazon 2000 (Apr13), CapOne Newcomer 2500 (May13), Citi dividend 3000 (May13), Discover IT 1000 (Jul13), Amex BCP 6000 (Jul13), Chase Southwest 10000 (Jul13), Chase Marriott 12000 (Oct 13), BofA Travel Rewards 5000 (Dec13)

Re: Inquiry Kings & Queens

I hate triple pulls.

I have triple pulls from cap one (denied venture- I want that card so bad) and amex.

Most of my inquires can from 10 for auto loan.
