I recently went on a massive app spree due to only having one CC as an AU. I decided to apply for mainly store cards since there is a possibility of being upgraded. Anyhow, I applied for TJX and was not instantly approved so I called the toll free number and was told I was denied and to wait 7-10 days for a letter of explanation. Well today there was another HP from TJX/Discover on my TU. Do you think they are reconsidering it?

Each time you apply for a credit card they will hard pull you. Unless it says reporting this is the usual outcome for getting denied. You should try Walmart for the free monthly TU score.

Two hard pulls? I would maybe call and inquire about it. It should only be one.

Were both hard pulls done on TU? Or did they pull two different bureaus? Some lenders pull two, or all three if the decision is borderline.

I thought so too. I called customer service and she initiated a request to have it removed. I was hoping they'd changed their minds
