I'm sooooo kicking myself right now. I couldn't control the cc itch and apped over the weekend. I just received my scorewatch alert while at work and almost cried. Fico decrease by 37pts!!!! And it's going to drop even more when the 2 cards that I was approved for a few weeks back finally start reporting.
Frustrated and soo ready to give up..
sounds extreme, are you sure nothing else hit? especially when your scores are less than 650, usually only that big of hit on your first inq with a 820+ score.

Scorewatch said 1 inquiry HSBC
Seems like there had to be more than just the inquiries. How many places did you app to?

Only 2. Best Buy & Walmart.
I still think something else changed on your report, look at everything on your report.
Yeah there is really no way that an inquiry alone ( or two ) would drop your score by that much. Definately take a look at your reports to see if anything else has changed, utilization, balances, accounts dropping....
you are going to have to get a new credit report to see what happened. Utilization?

SW is a little weird. They don't always say the reason for the change. Sometimes the change in score correlates with another alert that isn't the factor in your score change. You should pull your whole CR, like others have said, and see what else has changed. Maybe a CC reported a balance or a balance increased. Or maybe there is something reporting that shouldn't be. Maybe an older acct fell off and that changed your AAoA bucket. People have even reported scores dropping when a negative acct fell off, because it was an older acct and that helped their AAoA. It could be a lot of things, but it is extremely unlikely that 2 inq will drop your FICO 37 points.
