takeshi, I don't really think there's a good reason, and haven't cared to look into it. In fact, one of the letters said that credit history is too short. DH has had an AmEx since 1999 PIF every month. 85k income, have kept the balance low but used the card. DH had a medical collection on his report, (which has since been removed) but it was on there when we got the card so obviously they didn't mind. That wasn't even the reason in the denial letter.
Yes, their service is top notch and they have helped us on various things in a pinch, but it seems a lot of CC companies are moving toward that model anyway.
Is it wrong that I have more than one AMEX only because they add to my AAoA?
