I have heard from like 3 friends having CL's SLASHED to current balance. I owe nothing on my store card but my visa is nearly maxed out, it's 3 on my debt snow ball, are they going to start chasing me when I really start throwing money at it?!

just got mine increased from 1000 to 1500 yesterday...  I always PIF and use it every few months...

started with $200 limit on this card. one of my first a little over a year ago.  they have never denied me some kind of increase when I have remembered to call about every 4 months...

Just got bumped from 1600 to 1900 / rarely use it....time to dust it off

Are you referring to the CC or Store card?

They are still giving pretty generous CLI on the store card. Can't speak to the CC, though.

On 11/19 I called and was granted the following gli's:

Macys store card - $1,500 - from 3,500 to 5,000

Macys Visa - $700 from 2,700 - 3,400

Very curious.  Had your friends done something to spark their ire?

got my biggest GLI a month or so ago... it was approx. 4k increase!

-high uti

-marginal EX score

-sufficient credit 

-insufficient income

-past delinquencies

-new neg info (EX)

-usage patterns

I have to agree with the other members and say that Macy's is being generous out of nowhere- they bumped up my credit limit from $600.00 to $2,000.00 dollars today. I called a few days ago, and the lady told me to call after the 20th of this month, as that may qualify me for an increase. Very excited to see the increase on my account. Sorry, to hear about the decrease, I truly hope it works out for you and your friends. Best of luck
