Is it ok if I close an account I just opened with an online retailer

I just opened an account with fingerhut to build my credit and saw how ridiculous the prices are just for a pair of socks.  Would it hurt my credit score if I close this account, or should I just keep it open?

Get a secured card. Credit building is a marathon. Don't be that guy with 2000 toy limit store cards.

I just had two new accounts report to all three, and the accounts were opened and closed before they even reported. My scores didn't change.

^ no sense in leaving a useless card open, especially a store card. it'll automatically close with non-use anyway but if the limit sucks compared to the rest of your limits then ditch it
