Is it possible Chase refuse you move your CL?

We know that sometimes if you're borderline rejected, you can Recon Chase and ask them move CL from other CC to get approved.

Say if I have a $10K Chase Freedom of 1 year old and got rejected for CSP recently because of too many inquiries and newly opened accounts. Is it possible the Recon analyst still doesn't budget  even if I offer to move $5K to CSP from Freedom? And what's the chances of this, like it should work most times but occasionally not?

Yes they can refuse it. It really depends on your profile and the underwriter you are dealing with.

To add, they will allow u to move CL if the reason for denial was you have too much CL or you hit the max CL chase is willing to extend to you. Other than that most the the time a denial is a denial. You can try to PC the freedom but its YMMV. When you are treading on thin ice it's best to lie low than to try open more accounts. You are asking for AA at this rate

Pretty much the same for every other prime lender.

This is why I personally think that Amex's FR process should be regarded as a good thing. At least they're giving you 1 last chance to keep your account open. Other lenders will just close out all the accounts w/o any explanation nor any chance for appeal in most situations.

For this "hypothetical" case I honestly dont think it's possible. He got rejected for too many new accounts and inquiries and he's trying to bargain with the analyst about having another new account.
