Is it right time to apply for CLI on Amex BlueCash

FICO score: 785 ( Clean from all aspects )

Credit cards:

1) Affinity: $4500  since 12 years

2) Chase Freedom : $14K since 5years

3) Amex BlueCash : $ 8800  since 1 year

4) chase Sapphire preffred: $25K  last week.

Recent activities:

1) refinanaced my home last month.

2) opened Chase sapphire preffrered last week.

3) added additional card members  ( wife and daughter) to Amex Blue Cash yesterday.

Looking above,

Question:

Is it advisable to request Amex Blue cash CLI or wait for 6 or 12 months.

I don't need extra credit right away but just want  increase to keep usage low as possible.

Pls. advise

You mean right now or after some time? and should apply for 3X or less? current limit $8800.

If you've already had it for a year with good history go for 3x.

Most say best not to exceed $25000 or else you need to submit the form that allows Amex to get your tax transcripts.   A few others have said that they got the 3x going above $25K without any issue.

So $25K should be safe, $26.4K would be an interesting data point for us!   (Note it's not a FR, your accounts aren't frozen and if you choose not to send in the form, they simply don't give you the CLI).  And Amex can of course counter if they think the amount you ask for is too much.

Timing isn't an issue.  Pay down any balance you have on the card before asking.
