I know for Mastercard there are things you can only buy with a Mastercard. I even know of a restaurant that only takes Amex and no other cards. Are there any places, or any perks, for using Discover exclusively?
I'm trying to find a reason to keep the card open.

I'm trying to find a reason to keep the card open.
Places in China are the only places i've been to that only take Discover. And these are the smaller stores.
Discover has no AF, no FTF's, and gives free FICO! Gotta keep it open forever!
Sams club is mostly Discover for credit card. They do take some debit cards.

Is exclusive acceptance the only reason for you to keep it open? Have you considered the impact to your utilization from closing it?
I use my Discover just about everywhere (I've had it since 1998) but the only time I ever remember seeing a place that only takes Discover was Costco about 10 or so years ago. Costco has since switched to only Amex and I haven't seen anyplace since that only takes Discover. I live in the Northwest if that makes any difference.
Costco will only accept Amex and debit cards.
Sams Club will only accept Discover and debit cards.
Sam's Club in-store only accepts Discover, MasterCard, and true debit cards with PIN (Bluebird debit cards won't work).
I get my TU from Barclay's and I have no FTF on other cards (although no one but one tiny museum took Discover when I last went out of the country).

Yes, I've considered that. I would just like to downsize the next couple of months.
