It was a hard INQ, but my first CLI!

I called Alliant Credit Union and requested that they upgrade me to their Rewards card, but they require a $2k minimum credit line for that. I requested a $4k limit, and they countered with $2.5k, a nice increase from my old $500 limit.

I'm so excited! :smileyhappy:

Congrats, thats a huge increase!! If you don't mind me asking, what kind of credit did you have when you were initally approved for the $500 CL? I'm trying to tell my gf to apply for this card but she doesn't think she will be approved.

It was my first credit card, but I did have some student loans. With a low income ($300/mo as a student, which has since improved drastically) and a score from CreditKarma of ~630, they approved me for $500. They're pretty flexible, but I think they mainly look for a reasonably clean file.
