The front page says "The information you provided in your application did not score a sufficient number of points for approval of the application.  The reasons you did not score well compared with other applicants were:

No 08 To many inquiries last 12 months (TRUE)

No 22 Account not paid as agreed, public record, or collection agency filing (FALSE)

No 19 To few accounts currently paid as agreed (?? FALSE)

No 05 to many accounts iwth balances (I guess could be true, everything is 0% but it's really like 6 or so accounts out of probably 25+)

but then on the next page are denial reasons listed with Experian credit score of 697 on scale 321-844

- To many inquiries in last 12 montns - true

- ratio of balacne to limit on bank revolving accounts to high - true on the 0% of a couple cards

- to many accounts with balances - ok

-length of time accounts have been established - fine

those make since if that's the way they want to go but I pulled a brand new EX credit just to be sure and he has no lates, collections or anything ever.

Re: JCB Declined - UPDATE

OMG They are amazing.

1. Okay this is now the 2nd bank and person I have heard this from (Discover was the first yesterday) that initial apps they are pretty much exclusively computer decisioned because they want to be fair and not have any emotion or other factors that might weigh on or favor one application from another - interesting!

2. she says they pull the EX score that I was given and also get a 2nd Experian score called a "Bankruptcy Score" - apparently another formulated number on the chances that what is happening in the credit file might indicate a future bk?! but it showed some student loan as missing a payment (but that is no where to be found on the regular experian credit report and she did say it was very old and she couldn't see anything else about it.  I don't know where to begin with that because if it's not on regular credit reports calling credit agencies is already a bag of disaster could you imagine trying to tell some employee overseas about another credit report within their company that has a delinquency! ill pass!

3. I asked about JCB max $12k line and if over time it can go higher and she laughed and I thought she was laughing becasue that wasn't the highest they offer, but she was laughing because the highest she seen given to a client is $8,000 with proof of income!!

4. she said but you mentioned the rewards is why one reason why we are worth having and also our customer service, and that was clear with her... she was so nice!

she said really the application came down to the inquireies which are almost ALL our car purchase (like 12!) and that if they were over 6 months old she would lean to think the computer would have approved!

she then gave the best news ever, they keep applications on file for 6 months and that if anything changed on the credit report or (hint hint) the INQ's aged over 6 months that I could call back in and have the app processed again as is but new credit run.

AND once account is open, they do SP from then on by the sounds of what she was saying and they would remove HP Inq's if they did more than 1 in a 3 month period... we had a whole conversation about INQ's and crazy credit scoring models... she was amazing... minus getting approved.

she said she would notate our conversation and hoped i called back in future becasue they would otherwise love to give us a card! Smiley Happy

Company max is $12k

it's a PIF type card anyway... I'd switch us to it for 95% of our spending at 3%!!!

Sorry to hear that.   They are a very conservative lender.  I'm not considering even attempting them until my BK completely falls off my CRs next October.
