Re: JPMORGAN Select @ Chase.

Is that card a brownish color with a chip in it?  I think is it similar to the palladium card they give you when you ask for plastic version.

Re: JPMORGAN Select @ Chase.

The J.P. Morgan Select card isn't exactly a common CC, so this is not surprising. I often confuse the Chase retail branch employees when I show them my J.P. Morgan debit card.

Re: JPMORGAN Select @ Chase.

It's not a common card, probably less than 0.5% of Chase cardholders have it. And for a teller getting paid minimal, expecting her to be a product expert is a stretch.

Re: JPMORGAN Select @ Chase.

My local grocery store has a chase branch in it. One day I decided to pop in an make a cc payment. When he looked up my account he asked me to see the card since he had actually never seen one. So yes, it isn't that popular of a card. Prob has more to do with its lack of marketing than anything.

Re: JPMORGAN Select @ Chase.

The JP Morgan Select isn't the card they are trying to promote at branches. Go and everything is "Freedom, Freedom, Freedom" all the time.

I'm not surprised if their knowledge does not go beyond the Freedom and the CSP.

Chase has 15+ cards, I wouldn't expect the teller to know what they all were, even if it does say JP Morgan and you should at least know your "company name".

Re: JPMORGAN Select @ Chase.

Frugal,

I think you are expecting too much.  You want them to be able to get employees that can not only add but read as well.  You have to remember what they are paying most of these tellers.
