Jared's closed my account!

I went in last month to buy something for my daughter for her birthday. I came up for a random review and they clsoed both Jared's and Kay's on the spot! I called the credit dept and they said there was nothing that could be done. Wait 6 months and reapply. The problem is that my Kay's account had a $138 balance so it shows "closed by credit grantor with balance" Is that bad? I immediately paid the balance but I am so bummed bc I have worked so hard on my credit.

Very sorry to hear that this happened to you. I need to ask what else is going on in your credit profile that they would shut you down like that. Did they provide you with any reasoning (not that they have to).

No reason given. Still waiting on something in the mail. Nothing has changed. If anything, it is better than ever!

Wow, that's horrible to hear. Please provide data points and more info when you can. It sucks that it happened to you, but it will be interesting to see what they justify it with.

Creditors do not close accounts just for the fun of it. There is always a reason for any closing. Since the account was fresh there must be something on your report that freaked them out. I would pull a report on yourself if you can.
