I was able to join and am in FL.

I applied last year, right before they changed the residential requirement, and they still rejected my app because I was out of state. How were you able to join living in FL? Do you have a relative in PA?

I live in FL too.

Like another poster mentioned, the rules may have changed.  I think it was in 2011 when I joined.

Rules were changed at the beginning of June 2011.

Re: Join PSCEU.

If you click the Join Now link it will give you the associations that make you eligible.  It looks like you can still join the parks:

would like to join Pennsylvania Recreation & Parks Society Incorporated (PRPS) to receive their benefits and to be eligible to join PSECU. The PRPS Friend membership dues are $20. I authorize PSECU to collect and forward $10 from me to PRPS.

As an edit you have to be a resident of PA for the PRPS so enrolling in college is the only way i see...

Th only other option I can think of is taking a single course at one of the colleges and you can join as a student of an associated college

I'm more happy about USAA.  They approved me for everything I've asked for.
