Joining USAA

My mother in law about to get married in about 6 months to a Ex military person who has USAA account, does that mean I can join as full member ?

And if yes should I open my account now and later convert to full status ?

I'm sure you could join if your mom joined, and then you did or something like that. But in order for you to join as a full member (even if this connection gave you eligibility) he would need to have purchased a P&C product from USAA.
