Hey everyone. Wanted to report that I received a letter from HSBC informing me of an auto CLI to my MC. They gave me $800 making my new limit $3100. I was pleasantly surprised!
NICE JOB! it was an automatic CLI? You did not request it? I called and asked for a CLI 2 weeks ago and they put me on with a manager who informed me that they are not doing any CLI's at all at this time.
Yes, it was totally random, unsolicited. Miracles do happen huh? haha
Just a little history on my card in case anyone wonders - I've had it for almost 3 years and use it for all of my monthly expenses and pay it off in full before the due date each month. I also have 2% rewards on this card and get a $25 cash back check almost every 6 weeks. I'm waiting for them to pull the plug on that but so far they haven't.
Outstanding job! may I ask if you were carrying a ballance when the CLI happened? You didn't happen to make a payment that PIF the account did you? I had that happen on my old tribute mastercard one time. I Paid it in full (was going to cancell it) and they bumped me up automatically.
either way! congrats.
Thank you!
No, my HSBC card has not had a zero balance since I've had it. But I do pay the statement balance in full each month. I've never paid interest on this card.
That's awesome news! Keeps us HSBC cardholders hoping.
no fair! my hsbc is next on the chopping block. with my new nfcu cashrewards visa that i just got approved for at $5,000, my $320 limit on my hsbc card is looking less and less helpful.
Which HSBC MC do you have?
Congrats.
I only received one auto increase on my HSBC Platinum card just months after I opened the card and that was that. My current limit stands at $4,750. I opened it in 2006.

Congrats to those who got/get auto CLIs from HSBC.
I know that no CLI is coming for the measly $300 limit (which is 2-3% of the rest of my limits) card I've had over 10 years.
What makes this a joke is that I have no derogatory information on my file in any sense of the term and all three of my Fico scores are at least 780 -- 799 EQ, 793 EX and 780 TU.
But I can't catch a break from these guys.
